We lucky people had two enthusiastic marine lovers visiting our place in April who had just completed a coral propagation course in Thailand. They were keen to bring their newly gained knowledge to practice and to start a coral nursery in the house reef of our dive center.
We are extremely happy to have travellers visiting us who want to give back and help us to conserve Togeans coral reefs. The nursery is made by a technique which uses natural stones. Read more here.
When the replanted coral parts are well attached and reach a good size, it’s our job to bring them to the barrier reef and restore destroyed parts. In the meanwhile we monitor, replace and clean the corals and of course keep Paul and Tabea updated how their nursery is doing!
